Guardianship
NATIONAL GUARDIANSHIP ASSOCIATION Guardianship is a legal process utilized when a person can no longer make or communicate safe or sound decisions about his/her person and/or property; or has become susceptible to fraud or undue influence. Because establishing a guardianship may remove considerable rights from an individual, it should only be considered after alternatives to guardianship have proven ineffective or are unavailable. I have served as a guardian for many years to many individuals. As a Certified National Guardian I have the skills and experience necessary to competently and compassionnately serve as a guardian for you or your loved one. My years of experience as a Social Worker, combined with my legal experience in probate courts, have empowered me to become a strong advocate for safe and productive independence for those that allow me to serve as their Guardian. My goal for Guardianships is to maximize a person's independence and maintain family ties. As a professional guardian I'm linked with over 1000 other guardians in the public and private, for profit and not-for-profit agencies and organizations, as well as concerned individuals. Because of our extensive training and experience, Professional Guardians are often better trained to make the difficult decisions necessary for the best interest of the protected person. NGA provides its members with education and training on current issues related to guardianship, values, ethics and standards, and an opportunity to set a national agenda to ensure standards of excellence. If you or a family member is in need of a Professional Guardian, please call me. It would be my honor to serve.
